Erica Saum, LMSW
Erica is a compassionate, client-centered therapist who is deeply committed to creating a safe, empathetic space where individuals can explore their thoughts and emotions freely. She specializes in supporting youth and families as they navigate life's many transitions, with a particular focus on adolescents and young adults facing anxiety, depression, and significant life changes. Grounded in a strength-based approach, Erica believes that you are the expert on your own life — and she is honored to help you build lasting skills for emotional wellness and meaningful connection.
Erica is a licensed clinical and macro social worker with more than twenty years of experience in the field. She earned her bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and her master's degree from the University of Michigan. As a certified trainer and educator in suicide prevention and intervention, she understands the profound importance of holding space for individuals to share their stories and find a path toward safety. She has delivered training across community, faith-based, juvenile justice, and clinical settings, as well as with youth groups and educators. In her role as co-chair of the Oakland County Suicide Prevention Taskforce, she brings firsthand awareness of the realities families face when navigating suicidal ideation.
In addition to her clinical work, Erica holds a school social worker certification and serves as a social-emotional learning support specialist at an elementary school — helping students address behavioral challenges, build self-esteem, and develop self-regulation strategies that support both academic and emotional success.
Erica lives in southeast Michigan with her husband and three daughters. As a mother, she understands the very real weight of mental health challenges; as a social worker, she recognizes the barriers families often face in seeking support. She would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward growth and personal well-being.
